Peer Review Model

The Journal of Exercise & Organ Cross Talk (JEOCT) operates a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. All manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant subject expertise, under the supervision of an Associate Editor and the Editor-in-Chief.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations based on scientific merit and relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Assess originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and clarity of presentation
  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest and decline review assignments where such conflicts exist
  • Refrain from using confidential manuscript content for personal or professional advantage

Confidentiality and Ethical Conduct

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, disclose, or discuss submitted manuscripts with third parties without explicit permission from the editorial office. Ethical concerns, including suspected misconduct, plagiarism, or data irregularities, should be reported confidentially to the editors.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Peer Review

Reviewers must not upload manuscripts or any confidential content to generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools. The use of AI systems to analyze, summarize, evaluate, or generate peer review reports is strictly prohibited. Peer review must rely exclusively on independent human judgment to preserve confidentiality, integrity, and accountability.

Failure to comply with these principles may result in removal from the reviewer pool or further editorial action in accordance with the journal’s ethical policies.
