The Journal of Exercise & Organ Cross Talk (JEOCT) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research in molecular and cellular exercise physiology, with a particular focus on exercise-induced secretome, inter-organ communication, and the role of exercise in health and chronic-degenerative diseases. The journal welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, short communications, and translational studies that advance scientific understanding of human physiological adaptation to exercise.


Open Access Policy

JEOCT is a fully open-access journal. All articles are freely available online immediately upon publication without any subscription or paywall barriers. The journal operates under the principles of Open Science to ensure global dissemination of knowledge.


Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain full copyright over their work. All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-ND 4.0), which permits sharing and adaptation for non-commercial purposes, provided proper credit is given to the original authors and the journal.


Article Processing Charges (APCs)

JEOCT does not charge any submission, processing, or publication fees. All costs associated with editorial handling are fully covered by Publisher.


 

Peer Review Policy

JEOCT uses a rigorous double-blind peer-review system:

  • Authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
  • Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent experts.
  • Editorial decisions are based on scientific validity, methodological quality, ethical integrity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Final acceptance requires approval by the Editor-in-Chief.

Plagiarism Screening

All submissions undergo initial screening with iThenticate plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, or inappropriate text recycling are rejected before peer review. Serious cases may lead to institutional notification in line with COPE guidelines.

JEOCT follows COPE guidance regarding generative AI:

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
  • Authors must fully disclose any use of AI for writing, analysis, image generation, or data processing.
  • Use of AI must not compromise research integrity.
  • Undisclosed AI-generated content may result in rejection or post-publication correction.
