Aims and Scope

The Journal of Exercise & Organ Cross Talk (JEOCT) publishes high-quality original research articles and comprehensive review papers that advance understanding of the molecular, biochemical, and cellular mechanisms underlying human physiological adaptations to exercise training.

The journal covers all aspects of cellular and molecular exercise physiology, with a particular emphasis on mechanistic and translational research that elucidates how physical activity contributes to the prevention, management, and personalized treatment of chronic and degenerative diseases, as well as long-term health maintenance.

A central focus of JEOCT is exercise-induced inter-organ communication, especially studies investigating the release of peptides, proteins, and other bioactive molecules (the exercise-induced secretome) from various organs—most notably skeletal muscle—and their roles in metabolic regulation, cellular signaling, and organ-to-organ crosstalk.

JEOCT also welcomes integrative studies and state-of-the-art reviews that synthesize current knowledge on the secretome in health and disease, experimental and clinical investigations linking exercise stimuli to molecular responses, and translational approaches bridging basic mechanistic insights with clinical and preventive applications.
